Our role

  • Paid advertising — Meta
  • Paid advertising — Google (incl. Performance Max)

We run Automic Gold's paid advertising across Meta and Google. Ads are one arm of the store's growth alongside the site, email, and organic — this page shows what our part delivered and how it feeds overall sales.

What worked

Your content, tested as ads, beat the account average

On August 12 we turned 41 pieces of content your team shot into three test campaigns: Earrings, Jewelry, and Engagement. Together they turned $3,031 into $25,910, an 8.5x return in a month the account averaged 4.2x. The Jewelry campaign led at 10.9x, and Meta pushed most of its budget to the "Worn By Real People" photo pack on its own. The single best ad, a worn-in-daylight jewelry photo (DSC01505), turned $268 into $4,819.

Brand search and the catalogue campaigns held the floor

Brand search on Google returned 16.7x, turning $1,976 into $33,052. The two Meta catalogue campaigns spent $10,843 and brought back $50,098 at 4.4x and 4.9x. Non-brand search, July's weakest link at 1.4x, came back to 4.5x in August.

Email added $91,261 on top of the ads

Klaviyo attributed $91,261 in August: $53,310 from seven campaigns sent to 105,649 recipients at a 73.6% open rate, and $37,951 from the six automated flows. Flow revenue is up 37% from July's $27,659.

What we’re fixing

  • August ran below the 7x bar

We raised spend to $41,817, up 52% from July, and the account returned 4.2x preliminary with $175,194 tracked to ads across 348 purchases. The cause is concentrated: the three ring videos that led May through July wore out. The campaign built on them fell from 9.2x in July to 1.3x in August, and the two consolidated campaigns running the same videos returned 1.9x and 1.7x, so about $11,000 of prospecting spend ran through fatigued creative before those campaigns were paused on August 26. Performance Max also cooled from 7.4x to 3.3x. These numbers restate upward at the September 8 final as late attribution lands (July closed 4% above its preliminary), but August will finish below the bar.

  • What we're doing about it

September prospecting leads with your content. The Jewelry test gets the budget the ring videos lost, the fatigued campaigns stay paused, and the next content pack is built from what won in August: pieces worn on real people, shot in daylight, close to the hands and ears. Performance Max gets refreshed assets from the same winning content. The clearest ask from this month's data: more worn-on-body photos and short videos from your team. They outperformed everything else in the account.

Change log

Every change made to the campaigns this month, and why.

  1. Launched three test campaigns built from 41 pieces of content your team shot: Earrings at $100 a day, Jewelry at $100 a day, and Engagement at $50 a day, all broad US targeting with photos and videos in separate packs.

Why: The account had run on the same three ring videos since May. Testing your content in separate themed campaigns shows exactly which pieces earn budget next.

  2. Paused the campaign "TOF - Adv+ - Sales" automatically (stop gate).

Why: spend hit $208.06 yesterday, 4.0x the recent $52.46/day pace. roas is 0.05, below the client's goal of 8.

  3. Paused the three content test campaigns at the mid-test checkpoint.

Why: Early results were reviewed before more budget went out. The tests resumed August 25.

  4. Switched broad prospecting to a value-optimized build: paused "Consolidated Broad" and launched "Consolidated Broad VALUE" with the same three ring videos, optimized for purchase value instead of purchase count.

Why: The broad campaign was averaging about $212 per purchase against an account average near $500. Value optimization points Meta at higher-value buyers.

  5. Paused the campaign "Prospecting | Jewelry Test | CBO | 2026-08" automatically (stop gate).

Why: spend hit $135.99 yesterday, 3.0x the recent $44.75/day pace. no KPI goal on file for this campaign yet.

  6. Paused "Consolidated Broad VALUE" and moved prospecting budget back to the three content test campaigns.

Why: After a week the value build returned 1.7x while the content tests beat the account average. Budget follows results.

  7. Paused "TOF - Adv+ Sales - Rings" and "Retargeting - Social Engagement".

Why: The ring videos that returned 9.2x in July fell to 1.3x in August as their audience wore out, and retargeting ran 1.9x. Both stay paused while fresh creative takes over.

  8. Paused the campaign "Prospecting | Earrings Test | CBO | 2026-08" automatically (stop gate).

Why: spend hit $147.26 yesterday, 4.8x the recent $30.47/day pace. no KPI goal on file for this campaign yet.
