Our role
Paid advertising — Meta
Paid advertising — Google (incl. Performance Max)
We run Automic Gold's paid advertising across Meta and Google. Ads are one arm of the store's growth alongside the site, email, and organic — this page shows what our part delivered and how it feeds overall sales.
What worked
Nearly four times the monthly sales floor
Shopify recorded $458,545 in gross sales for July across 580 orders, with a $790.60 average order. That is close to four times the $120,000 monthly floor this account is measured against. Ads tracked $222,639 of revenue and email another $84,474. Each system counts its own contribution, so those figures overlap rather than add, but every channel we can measure pointed the same way in July.
Spend scaled 66% and the return held above the bar
We raised spend to $27,540, up 66% from June and 72% from last July, and the account still returned 8.1x, clear of the 7x bar. Against last July, revenue is up 57% on 36% more purchases tracked to ads. Scaling spend usually costs efficiency, and it cost some here (June ran above 10x at its lower spend), but the trade bought the biggest ad-tracked revenue month in our records. These numbers are preliminary: the platforms keep crediting sales for several days, and June's return moved up almost a full point after its report closed. July's can still settle higher.
Rings creative and Performance Max carried the volume
The Meta campaign "TOF - Adv+ Sales - Rings" turned $5,560 into $51,366, a 9.2x return and the strongest scaled campaign in the account; Instagram placements delivered $73,839 of Meta's revenue on $10,779 of its spend. On Google, Performance Max delivered 98 of the month's 295 results at 7.4x, expanded July 7 with three new asset groups (Rings, Everyday Fine Jewelry, and The Automic Story), and brand search returned 36.6x on $1,114.
Email compounded the ad traffic
Klaviyo attributed $84,474 in July: $56,814 from six campaigns and $27,659 from the twelve automated flows. That is up 25% from June on two fewer sends, and the 74% campaign open rate runs well above the industry median shown in the email section.
What we’re fixing
Three campaigns ran below the bar
"TOF - Adv+ - Sales" returned 2.0x on $2,205, "Retargeting - Social Engagement" 2.9x on $762, and non-brand search 1.4x on $744. Together that is $3,711, about 13% of the month's spend, returning under 3x while the rest of the account ran at 9x. The automatic stop gates caught the worst days as they happened (pauses on July 5, 15, and 16 in the change log below).
What we're doing about it
August starts with that spend rebalanced toward what earned it: the Rings campaign and Performance Max. Non-brand search gets tighter negative keywords so it stops buying generic clicks, and the underperforming Advantage+ campaign gets a creative refresh before it earns budget back. July reporting closes August 7 and this page re-stamps final on August 8.

Why: cost per result jumped: $156.60 spent with zero results. no KPI goal on file for this campaign yet.
Resumed the campaign "TOF - Adv+ Sales - Rings" within the hour.
Why: First-run review of the stop gate: one zero-result day at this spend level is normal variance (and some accounts track custom conversion events the worker cannot see yet). The pause rule was tightened so single quiet days no longer trip it.

Why: spend hit $114.63 yesterday, 3.2x the recent $35.61/day pace. roas is 0.02, below the client's goal of 8.
